Manos del Uruguay is a co-operative established in 1968 to help women in Uruguay generate an income, and a full member of the World Fair Trade Organisation since 2009.
Exceptional quality yarns are created usIng traditional methods. These expertly crafted techniques create the subtle 'stria' nuances and distinctive space dyed colours that have become Manos' trademark.
Every purchase of Manos yarn supports the handcrafted rather than the mass produced, which in turn helps a woman support her family. Each skein is signed so you know who made your yarn and from which village.
